Craig's Reaction to "Morning Sickness"

Besides sharing this exciting time with family and friends this also allows me to quickly record all the funny things that happen during pregnancy.

Thankfully I have not suffered from morning sickness but I do have late afternoon nasuea. Usually right before dinner time I start to feel really bad. One day I was walking around the house and it hit me hard. I ran to the bathroom to kneal at the porceline goddess. I called out to Craig to bring my water. He obliged came into the bathroom said something like, "Are you okay?"pulled my hair away from my face, shoved my hair down my shirt, walked out of the bathroom so he could continue to watch the Cal Basketball Game....now that's love.

We're Pregnant!

I am a little superstitious about writing this but there is just so much that happens after you find out that you are having a baby that I do not want to forget any of it. We have known for about 3 weeks now that Baby is on the way. We are hopeful that things will continue to go smoothly and we will have more information after our first prenatal appointment next Monday.

One day in January I was walking with my friend Melissa at Mission Bay and I got this thought in my head, "I'm Pregnant" call it woman's intuition or whatever; I had a feeling. I was so sure that I was pregnant that I had to stop and get a caffeinated coffee before taking the test because it was going to be a long time before I could drink coffee again.

One of the first things that I learned is that when you are pregnant the "pee on a stick" results are almost immediate. In movies the characters always have time to deliver monologues and make deals about what they will do for the universe if only they are or are not pregnant. I will tell you the first time I used one of these tests and was pregnant I hadn't even washed my hands before the second line was there and VERY dark.

I had always thought that I would find some very creative way to tell Craig that we are having a baby. When I got the result and I knew and he didn't it felt wrong. It felt that I was keeping a life changing secret from my best friend. So what did I do? I called him at work before he was going out to lunch with a group of people. This may not have been the best idea. You could hear the fear and shock through the phone. So after breaking the news Craig went off to lunch and I went to buy another test and drink a gallon of water so I could take it. Well a few hours later and a test by a different manufacturer still left us with the same result. Right now Baby is on the way. Oh and Craig's level of shock was unchanged after the second test.
