Bad Mommy!

Well here I am again making excuses for the lack of updates. I guess I have been taking Facebook for granted and figuring that people are seeing pictures and reading updates there. Natalie is growing into such an amazing little girl. She is crawling, smiling, laughing, and now clapping up a storm. She loves to play peek-a-boo and will use anything that she find to entertain people with her cuteness, which is not a difficult task for her.

Since my last post we have both had a our 1st official Mother's and Father's Day. Here is recap of our activities and some pictures:

Mother's Day coincided with her 8 month b-day. The day included a morning trip to the zoo, brunch, and a visit to the bay.

Father's Day was a chance for Craig to sleep in a hike at Torrey Pines and then a dinner of Pizza!

Nor Cal

After being home a couple days from New York Natalie and I headed North for visits and Easter in Half Moon Bay. From there we went around and Natalie got to meet all her Aunties Marsha, Maria, and Christine. She also had some playdates with Parker, Colton and Carter and they became fast friends.

We had a great Easter. Natalie enjoyed her Easter basket, especially the grass, filled with Puffs, bunnies, and bubbles. Later we went to the neighbors and Addison practiced her big sister skills by rocking Natalie in the car seat. Many of the adults were a little nervouse with the speed that Addie was rocking her, but Natalie loved it and laughed and smiled the entire time.

New York Trip

Hard to believe that it has been a month since we were in New York. We went to see our friend Elyse get married. It was a wonderful trip and Natalie did amazing on the plane and seemed to have no problem sleeping in the hotel room. What seemed to be Natalie's biggest problem was having to wear so many layers of clothing, she is a true California girl.

We had such a good time at the wedding and it was wonderful to see Elyse so happy and to finally meet Roger. They have wonderful friends and family who made us feel very welcomed in the Big Apple.

Thought she looked like a doll behind her plastic rain cover

Grandma Susan wanted to make sure Natalie went on a carriage ride, she was asleep in 2 minutes

We also had the opportunity to meet with Craig's Aunt and Uncle. We were treated to a great lunch and Natalie got loved on. Very fun day.

On the plane home...she did SO great!

6 Months Old

Okay so today Natalie is really seven months old but it has taken so long to get this updated I will let you know the highlights of the six month appointment.

She tips the scale at 15lb 14oz (50 percentile)
Length: 26 1/4 in (80 percentile)

The Dr is so pleased with her progress. We are continuing the use of the Prevacid and will do a trial without it once we return from all our travels. Her are some pictures from her six month photo shoot with her bear.

Oh and for those of you in the "Big Bib Haters Club" some rare pictures of her without bibs.

Disneyland

Initially Natalie and I were going to ride up to Disneyland for the day. I thought that it would be a fun inexpensive day because I could get in free for my birthday. Sadly I think that Craig and my Mom came along not for my birthday but because they didn't want to miss Natalie's first Disney experience. Her favorite rides seemed to be Small World and Pooh's Honey Pots.

Her first ride Peter Pan which is our favorite Disney movie

In front of the Princess castle with Dad...something I am sure he will learn all about in the next few years.

With Dad and Grandma getting ready for the Small World overload

Photography by Dylan

We got together at our friends house for a yummy brunch and to celebrate the news of Jeff and Tracy having baby 3! Dylan (who is almost 4) was a natural when we put the camera in his hands. We got some great candid shots of the brunch and a lesson in what the world looks like to a 3 year old. Enjoy!

Ramblings

It has been so long since I have updated this I don't even know where to start. Natalie has been on Prevacid for a month and is doing very well. While the amount of spit-up is not reduced she is a MUCH happier baby. Now she spends her day avoiding naps and getting my attention through the release of loud and high pitched squeals. Once she sees me her squeal turns into a big smile.

The things about Natalie Smiles is that they are hard to come by. She is a very serious baby.
When the camera comes out the smiles go away. I did manage to get one the other day but I had to be a bit sneaky and still she knew the camera was there. She kept looking at me then the camera over and over until she thought that the camera was harmless and I snapped a smile.

Her being a serious baby becomes a problem when strangers come to dote on her and she just stares at them. They are pulling out all the stops, funny faces, fake sneezes, peek a boo games and she just stares. While she definitely knows Mom and Dad and has smiles for us she is still not doing much laughing...just squealing.

She is able to sit for a short time without support and really appears to want to be mobile.

Once she is down she immediately rolls onto her tummy and flails all her limbs to try and move. When she can't get where she wants to go she, of course, squeals. While she has mastered the back to tummy roll she could care less about going the other way...I guess that is what parents are for.

She is showing signs of wanting to eat "people food". I have been working making baby food and freezing it for the day she is ready. So far I have green beans, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, pears, apples, and bananas. The high chair will be put together this weekend in anticipation. Hopefully we will get some good messy pictures but so far she doesn't seem the type to spit out food.

In other news it looks like Grandma Susan will be spending part of the year in San Diego. She just bought a cute 3 unit property in a great location. She will be signing the papers next week. This will make Miss Natalie very happy as there are some days that I am sure that she likes my Mom more than she does me.

To make you all warm and fuzzy some pictures of Natalie on Valentine's Day.
